The Shining Star MADA is awarded to an individual who has displayed outstanding dedication or has been responsible for outstanding accomplishments of local significance in the field of multiple births in a local community in Canada. One Shining Star award will be given out to each MBC Chapter annually.

The winner of the 2023 Shining Star award for the Toronto Chapter – Toronto Parents of Multiples Births Association - TPOMBA is Helen Toguri

Helen has been a source of incredible of strength and leadership over the 5 years on our TPOMBA Executive Board, especially the last 2-3yrs as the Co-President.

She instils confidence, is an excellent sounding board, and will always remind us of our mandate as a peer support group to Parents of Multiples. 

Although her role is primarily to oversee Operations, she is constantly lending a hand in all facets of our Organization. 

Whether it is posting on Facebook, sending out promotional email, updating the website, hosting a book club or an 
Expectant Parents Night she is always there to lend her time, expertise and mentorship. 

She is the embodiment of a what it means to be a Volunteer and a Shining Star!
